I am a London based artist working primarily with clay. Ideas of displacement, poverty and power are communicated in my layered and fractured language of clay. I use form, scale and surface to explore and question the society and time that I am living in. What transpires are contemplations informed by God and Nature. I spent my formative years with nuns in the care system so rite and ritual surface in the vessels, containers and wall pieces that I make. The natural world is a source of inspiration for me as I move in decreasing space but it remains a constant source of inspiration. My sculptural vessels are potent symbols of personal and collective experience. I am currently exploring the idea of 'limitations' as a source of richness. The enquiry extends to both process and material, embracing constraint as a catalyst for invention, depth and meaning.
