Landscape Open
The Landscape Open returns to Salisbury Museum this autumn with a record-breaking selection. Over 2,400 entries from 1,300 artists across 43 countries were considered, and the works of 83 artists have been shortlisted for exhibition. Responding to the theme of landscape in any medium, from painting and drawing to sculpture, print, photography and film, the selected works offer a wide and surprising view of how artists see the land around us.
The exhibition opens at Salisbury Museum (King's House) on 17 October 2026 and runs until 31 January 2027, giving visitors more than three months to explore it. The Private View takes place on 16 October.
The shortlist was chosen by a judging panel of Adrian Green (Director of The Salisbury Museum), artist Nina Murdoch, Emma Stibbon RA, earth scientist and presenter Dr Anjana Khatwa, and art historian Dr David Boyd Haycock. Prizes include £1,000 and a solo exhibition, the Student Mentoring Prize with Parker Harris, a People's Choice Award of £500, and the NG Art Creative Residency, a three-week residency in Provence.
