Ros Ford RE RWA - Abaraeron

£1,150.00

Etching & aquatint
97 x 69 cm
2024

Ros Ford RE RWA is inspired by functional structures and buildings. She researches locations in the UK and overseas making drawings and photographs for series of large etchings, often using an imagined high viewpoint. Her work reflects the scale of the structures, their abstract qualities and relationship to the landscape. Ford etches large copper and steel plates, the processes and materials echoing her subject. Physical mark making, alchemy of chemicals and using the press echo past industries or, for example the action of the sea. Her work is held in important public and private National and International collections including the Kings’ collection, the Ashmolean Museum, RWA and Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Egypt. An elected member of the RE (Royal Society of Painter Printmakers) and RWA (Royal West of England Academy) she has been awarded prizes and international residencies. Ford exhibits widely in solo and group exhibitions including at the RA Summer Exhibition.
