Jesmonite
50 x 35 cm
2020
Drawing from a mechanical engineering model, an interlocking cog rolls its way along a miniature topographic landscape of the Grand Canyon. The imaginary landscape of the wheel mirrors the canyon, providing a material inversion of the undulating ravine.
The title Arch Form is borrowed from the musical term for a piece of music based on repetition in reverse.
