Eco-resin rockpool, pigment
32 x 43 cm
2026
Eleanor Turnbull is a British sculptor and gardener based in West Cornwall, UK. Casting directly from the landscape itself, Eleanor adapt mould-making to site, season and tide, redefining the classical process as one of play and exploration, a technology for looking or engaging with the landscape.
Through documenting rockpools, puddles, patterns, and behaviours within the environment, Eleanor creates a living archive, connecting with what is organic, alive and autonomous. The mould-making process becomes one of motion rather than replication, where time lapses, loops and sequences, are captured and tell a story. A subject unravels or rotates, is spliced or moulded thrice, revealing minute or extreme shifts in time and environment.
Through watery thresholds and rural topographies, the work explores body, material and land, calling on us to examine our relationship - subconsciously, ecologically, romantically, politically - to the land.
