Ceri Shaw - Erosion Series 1

£1,200.00

Fine bone china
23 x 15 cm
2025

Ceri Shaw is a landscape artist specialising in slip-cast bone china. Using plaster moulds, she crafts delicate, thin-walled vessels that are hand-altered while in their raw state. Her process is rooted in creating small batches of distinct pieces—each one unique. Central to her practice is an ongoing investigation into a sense of belonging within the landscape. Her work translates specific places, forming a dialogue with the environment. She is particularly drawn to the rugged, ever-changing rhythms of coastal regions and on capturing the edge-moments where weather, horizon and terrain intersect. Her academic research explores how the idea of the contemporary sublime can be used to foster awareness of the climate crisis, encouraging deeper reflection and emotional connection to the natural world and asking the questions of how artistic practice can inspire change.
