I am a multidisciplinary London-based artist working across video, land art and painting.
To deepen my understanding of nature, people and art, I study the boundaries of my own existence. I travel to remote environments, observe, interact and experiment with wildness, connectedness and the elements. I unite with rivers and fires; invent rituals and record my performances. My videos capture people’s presence in a landscape.
In my studio, I return to the old tradition of landscape painting to articulate a world on the verge of environmental collapse. I paint landscapes from memory, recreating organic formations. I oversaturate my colours and intensify the sense of urgency.
‘Old Mountains’ is a monochromatic view of Tatra Mountains. Just like an old photograph, it expresses the simple beauty and fragility of the winter landscape.
